On Monday, March 24, we were able to enjoy the sight of two storks in the nest in Vlaha for just over an hour as they celebrated finding each other by mating. The stork's joy also lasted just over an hour: the bird that arrived at 1:03 p.m. flew away at 2:11 p.m., and the one that arrived first continues to sit alone in the nest.
During the hour they spent together, there were at least two instances of mating. One was captured by the camera's time-lapse feature, and we were able to see the other. Unfortunately, we were unable to take a photo that would help identify either of them.
So we will have to wait and see if we get to observe the life of a stork family in the Vlaha nest again in 2025.
